This year's Northern Lights Forecast is looking great! The Solar Cycle may be peaking in 2024, a year ahead of previous predictions. As always, it takes due diligence, some late nights and perhaps a bit of luck to see the “lights.” For monitoring aurora activity, I’ve bookmarked my favorite Links & Webcams and Northern Lights Tonight.
Newbies ~ I have a New Release titled Denali Spectacle from an amazingly sharp aurora display over the Alaska Range. We also just came out with the non-aurora shot Star Globe which has surpassed expectations and gone galactic! To catch more photos & experiences please check out Facebook/AuroraHunter.
Our next in-person show is the Anchorage Market this May. In the meantime, please check out our showtimes page to see some of our awesome gallery outlets across the great state of Alaska.

Auroras dance over my head in Anchorage, Alaska on September 2, 2023 at 12:37 am. I saw these despite the city lights on a bright moonlit night. If it’s clear & dark nothing can stop a big aurora show, especially when they’re right on top of you.

Here's a graph illustrating when in the solar cycle I've taken some of my favorite shots. The key thing to remember is that auroras occur throughout the cycle from Solar Max to Solar Min. They're just not quite as common during the lows in the cycle. More on the Solar Cycle
We are absolutely smitten with Metal Prints. The results of having my aurora & scenic shots printed on aluminum have been WOW-With Out Words! The inks are dye-infused onto a specially-coated aluminum sheet and sealed with a gemlike UV coating that is both water and scratch resistant. We have commonly heard people say, "It's like looking through a window"...."Are these backlit?"...."They look so 3D." And the archival quality is out of this world (think century plus). This is a technological breakthrough and the results are in HIGH DEF!
More information can be found on our Metal Print Page.
